Welcome to the 2008 Jokara-Micheaux Film Festival
“Celebrating Film Southern Style” August 28-August 31!
 

We are excited to be screening a host of independent, family-oriented regional and national films and videos that reflect our commitment to strengthening social values and making a difference in the future of film and how they influence and impact our lives and the lives of our children.  Feel free to attend the screenings, educational symposiums and other exciting events and parties that are scheduled throughout the three day festival.  

Many film makers, producers, actors and other film industry professionals will be available to talk and there will a media relations person available to answer any of your questions and provide you with the support you need while attending the festival. Press Information

Pre-qualified newspaper, radio and television reporters are welcome to attend any and all of the scheduled festival events as working members of the press.  Your organization will need to contact the festival office at least two weeks in advance to acquire passes. The press passes for those who register in advance will be available for pick up at the Southwest Georgia Film Commission Office on August 27, between 1-5 P.M. The press package will include your festival pass to the screenings and symposiums, official breakfast opening and closing ceremonies, one pass to the celebrity receptions and one pass to the Black-tie Gala Awards Dinner.

Our festival staff are committed to helping you with anything you need during this event.  We are humbled by your attendance and do not want you to miss all the exciting events the festival has to offer.  The Jokara-Micheaux Film Festival is a part of the extensive effort to promote Southwest Georgia as the new emerging market for all businesses related to the film industry as well as a celebration in the art of film and television production.
